I received a letter today from the mutual friend I was with when I met Jeremy in a packed balti house in Lye in May 1987. In her letter she told me that she gave him my phone number without my permission as she knew we would be right for each other and that we were meant to be together. She was, and still is, right. In his wedding speech our Best Man described his best mate as totally honest. He was also right. In the many cards, emails and letters I've received since Jeremy died the word ‘honest' features in so many of them; as does straightforward, decent, fair, positive, competitive, loyal and a true gentleman. He was all of those things and much more. I loved him with all my heart.
